He was born on 10 August 1983 in Nakhchivan. In 2004, he completed his higher education in Business Administration at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics.

He began his professional career in 2005 at “Smart System Technology” LLC as a programmer in operations (2005–2007).

In 2007, he directed his career towards the banking sector. In the same year, he joined “Bank of Baku” OJSC, where he held various managerial positions until 2012. From 2013 to 2025, he worked at “Unibank” OJSC, where from 2019 to 2025 he served as Director of the Retail Business Development Department.

A. Safarli has more than 17 years of experience in the banking sector and specializes in business development and retail banking products. He also has substantial experience in digital transformation.

Araz Safarli was appointed Chief Executive Officer of “Prior Leasing” OJSC on 3 March 2025.
